I had a terrible problem with violets in my garden. They took over and spread everywhere. It's taken ages to get rid of them and I am still amazed to find some growing in little crevices. I love them but they really need a large space to colonise which I don't have. It looks like you may be in for a bumper crop of pears this year. The blossom on my cherry tree is out but there doesn't look to be as much as there was last year.
